BIO

Julie Renfro is a mixed media artist whose work reflects her love of excessive ornament, mixed textural elements, and the meditative beauty and wonderment of obsessive detail. Her mother Muriel was a quilter, her father Marty an architect, and both have deeply influenced her work.

Julie has found new inspiration in experimenting with textile art, working with a variety of media that includes canvas, batik and quilting fabrics, repurposed decorator fabrics, machine embroidery, hand stitching, acrylic paint and mediums, and craft materials. She lives and works in Ann Arbor, MI, with her husband Mike Sivak.
